Every project follows the same documented sequence — no steps skipped to save schedule time.
-
1Site Evaluation
We assess caliche layer depth, existing grade, drainage direction, and HOA setback requirements before writing a single number on a quote.
1–2 days -
2Excavation & Subbase
Caliche is mechanically broken out to the required depth. Compacted aggregate base is built in lifts and tested for density before forming begins.
3–7 days depending on site -
3Concrete or Asphalt Pour
Pours are scheduled for early morning during summer months. Curing blankets and controlled water cure are used to prevent surface shrinkage in high-heat conditions.
1 pour day + 28-day cure -
4SportMaster Surface Coating
Applied in multiple coats when surface temps are confirmed below 140°F. Color, texture, and slip-resistance level are selected per sport and client preference.
2–3 days application + cure -
5Line Marking & Net Hardware
Lines are taped and painted to sport-specific dimensions. Net posts are set in sleeves for removable installation or permanently grouted per client preference.

Why Sahuarita Homeowners Choose Us
Desert-Specific Construction
We build for Sonoran Desert conditions — not California specs. Caliche removal, UV-stable coatings, and monsoon drainage are standard, not add-ons.
SportMaster Surface System
Professional-grade acrylic resurfacing that meets manufacturer performance specs for UV resistance, color retention, and playability in extreme heat.
HOA Approval Support
We prepare dimensioned drawings and material cut sheets specifically formatted for HOA architectural review — reducing revision cycles and approval delays.
Honest Scheduling
We don't pour concrete in monsoon season or coat surfaces in afternoon heat. If the conditions aren't right, we wait — and we tell you why before you ask.
Transparent Scope
Every quote breaks out excavation, base, surface, and hardware separately. No bundled lump sums that hide where the money goes.
Multi-Sport Expertise
Overlapping pickleball, basketball, and tennis layouts require precise dimensioning. We've done it enough times to get the line spacing right on the first layout.
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of courts do you install?
Pickleball, tennis, basketball, multi-sport overlays, and shuffleboard — for residential lots, HOA amenity areas, and commercial facilities across southern Arizona.
How much does a residential court cost?
Residential projects typically run $18,000–$45,000 depending on court type, site conditions, and surface spec. Caliche depth is the largest variable we can't quote without a site visit.
Why does heat affect the installation timeline?
SportMaster coatings require surface temps below 140°F for proper film formation. In Sahuarita summers, that means early-morning application windows only. Rushing this step causes delamination.
Do you help with HOA approval drawings?
Yes. We provide dimensioned site plans and material specification sheets formatted for HOA architectural committees — included in our proposal at no extra charge.
How long does a full court installation take?
From permit approval to project closeout: 45–65 days for residential, 60–90 days for HOA and commercial scopes. Concrete cure time (28 days minimum) is the primary fixed constraint.
What is caliche and why does it matter?
Caliche is a calcium carbonate hardpan common throughout the Tucson basin. It must be mechanically excavated before base compaction — otherwise the court base won't drain properly and will heave over time.
Ready to get a real number for your court?
We'll evaluate your site, assess caliche conditions, and send you a line-item quote — no pressure, no bundled estimates. Most site evaluations are scheduled within one week.
